Thread Tapping
Your parts need to fit together securely time after time.
3D printing can produce parts with integral snap fits, undercuts and features to support clips. But the more frequently you fasten your parts, the faster they will fail, particularly if the material is not an engineering grade polymer such as Nylon.
We offer thread tapping post-printing as a cost-effective method of improving a secure fastening – resulting in an improved life span of your prototype. Compared to our threaded brass inserts, thread tapping is less robust but makes a great alternative where space is an issue.
Our standard range of metric taps extends from M3 to M16.
If you require alternative sizes and thread forms, contact us to discuss your preferred options.
